I used to love 4k demos and I learned to program in Pascal, C and Assembler trying to implement effects like this. Good times.

Yeah, it is not exactly an efficient algorithm, nor language for implementing it, nor implementation of it.
It is a little surprising to me that I could get a 28Mhz 80386 to do faster 15 years ago than I can on a web page today.
Well, you should try it on IE9 or 10 or any other older version for that matter. The sequence finishes in less than 3 seconds and CPU load is lower tan 13% here.
You must be using some netsacape breed again after 15 years...
